Tatum’s Tampa Office Expands with New Clients and New Hires
Tampa, FL (July 18, 2006) – Tatum’s Tampa office has been engaged by several new clients, including SRI Surgical, GA Food Services, Inc. and Ripa & Associates, Inc. Additionally, the Firm has added a new Partner and a Controller to its growing Financial Leadership Practice in Central Florida. New Partner Fred Brown brings Tatum exceptional resources with his senior-level professional services and proven experience in operations management, while the addition of Controller Tom Petersen adds a new and unique dimension to Tatum’s service offerings.

Tatum’s Tampa office is currently retained by clients in various stages of restructuring and high-growth situations. With Tatum’s leadership, a fast-food restaurant chain has emerged from bankruptcy and has completely reversed fortunes, from continuing losses to strong profits in just eighteen months. Tatum helped a large manufacturing company successfully avoid bankruptcy by working effectively with creditors to settle amounts for the business that had succumbed to foreign competition. Another Tatum client’s business was essentially destroyed by Asian competitors, but with effective leadership, the owners will emerge from bankruptcy with significant cash at the end of the liquidation process. Tatum has significant experience in dealing with this high-stress environment and is able to successfully navigate in these troubled waters.
New Leadership
Fred Brown
Brown brings more than 25 years of financial experience to Tatum. Brown has been in the Tampa area for many years, serving as a financial executive with such companies as BELAC, Bioderm, Inc., Protek Electronics, Proline Boats, Sarasota Automation and Rexham Corporation. Brown has extensive manufacturing and operations management experience.
Tom Petersen
Petersen brings vast experience in accounting systems and controls to Tatum. Petersen has worked in the Tampa area for many years, including Controller of Paramount Dental Plan, Inc. In addition, he has served as a consultant to several Tatum clients over the past several years, contributing significant results in designing reports and metrics for monitoring the health of the businesses.
